Organizations and People
Being aware of crime in our communities is an important step toward preventing and reducing future crimes.
Crime awareness and prevention includes offering individual and group counselling, providing family support, helping youth at risk of becoming involved in criminal activities and fundraising to support crime prevention activities.
Many community groups, non-profit organizations, individuals, police and government agencies are active in making the community and public more aware of and preventing crime. They include:
- B.C. Crime Stoppers,
- B.C. Crime Prevention Association,
- Community groups, volunteers and government agencies such as the ministries of Justice and Children and Family Development.
