Justice & Public Safety Council
The Justice and Public Safety Council was established in April 2013, in accordance with the Justice Reform and Transparency Act. The Council is responsible for a vision for the justice and public safety sector, an annual plan to achieve that vision, and the promotion of collaboration and cooperation among participants in the justice and public safety sector. Justice Summits are held at least once a year, by invitation of the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Public Safety, to encourage innovation and facilitate collaboration across the sector. The Summit is a forum for frank discussion between justice sector leaders (within and outside government) about how the system is performing and how it can be improved.
